The St. Olaf volleyball team suffered a tough, three-game loss to the College of St. Benedict Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph, marking their fourth straight defeat since conference play began.

The women, coming off a close, five-game loss to Concordia-Moorhead Friday night, dropped the first three games 30-27, 31-29, and 30-24 against the Blazers.

Andrea Otteman (So., Ames, Iowa) and Mara Pedersen (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D./ Lincoln) led the Oles with 12 kills each, aided by Audrey Volstad's (So., Hanley Falls, Minn./ Yellow Medicine East) 43 assists.

St. Olaf's impressive offense (53 kills to St. Ben's 49) could not seem to get past the Saint Ben's blockers in the match.

With the loss St. Olaf fell to 0-4 in conference play and 4-8 overall, while Saint Ben's chases first place moving up to 3-1 in the MIAC and 9-1 overall.

St. Olaf takes on Augsburg College at home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night, then heads to the Simpson College Invitational tournament in Indianola, Iowa next weekend.
