Men's basketball edged by UW-Superior

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - St. Olaf used a 14-2 run late in the second half to close a 14-point UW-Superior lead to two, but the Yellowjackets held off the Oles 74-65 in a non-conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Zorn Arena.
Sterling Nielsen had 16 and Josh Pratt 14 points to lead St. Olaf in the loss. Nielsen added seven assists while Mason Braden had 11 points in the loss.
UW-Superior was paced by Jarrod Peterson's 17 points and seven rebounds. Brendan Bauer added 12 and Johnquez Brooks 11 in the win.
St. Olaf (3-5) led by a pair at the break, but UW-Superior (4-8) made six of its first nine field goal attempts in the second half. An Aaron Corry dunk with 8:05 left gave UWS a 62-48 lead. St. Olaf responded with a rally, capped by back-to-back three-pointers by Pratt and Michael Jenson with 2:45 left. The Yellowjackets outscored the Oles 8-1 over the final minutes to secure the win.
