NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's hockey team skated to a 2-2 overtime tie with UW-Eau Claire on Saturday night.

The Blugolds (12-3-2) entered the game ranked 6th nationally in the poll and No. 8 in the rankings. The ranking didn't phase the Oles (5-8-2) as they jumped out to a two goal lead with goals from Mark Rath and Jeff Harris.

The Blugolds mounted a comeback in the second period with two goals of their own. In a wide open and physical third period, both teams had great scoring chances to win. The St. Olaf defense and goaltender Steve Papciak held strong throughout overtime to preserve the tie.

St. Olaf returns to MIAC play next Friday night against Bethel at 7:30 pm.
