Ole women ride Cerjan's shooting to third straight MIAC win

NORTHFIELD, Minn.- Kim Cerjan went 5-for-10 from behind the arc en route to a game-high 19 points as the St. Olaf women's basketball team defeated Macalester 65-47 for their third straight MIAC win on Saturday afternoon at the Skoglund Center.
Cerjan shot 7-of-14 from the field, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Mackenzie Wolter scored 15 points and had eight rebounds for the Oles (10-8, 8-7 MIAC) in the win. St. Olaf shot 49.0 percent (25-51) in the game.
Macalester (4-14, 3-12 MIAC) was led by Taylor Pike's 16 points off the bench. Pike went 4-for-10 on threes and 5-for-13 from the field. The Scots struggled from behind the arc where they shot just 22.2 percent (6-27) for the game. Macalester finished shooting 29.0 percent (18-62) from the floor.
Wolter and Cerjan's work on the boards helped the Oles to a 43-31 rebounding edge. St. Olaf also recorded eight blocks in the game. Elise Raney had four of the eight Ole blocks. The Oles committed 17 turnovers and handed out 15 assists, as eight different Ole players had an assist.
St. Olaf had won seven of its last nine. The Oles play Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday. The Cobbers beat the Oles 61-59 at the buzzer on Jan. 2 in Northfield.
