Ole men lead MIAC's after first of three days

MINNEAPOLIS - St. Olaf had three victories including a 400 Medley Relay title as the Oles took the lead after Thursday, the first of three days at the MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
The Oles' relay squad of Evan Griffith, Colby Kubat, Billy Brebrick and Michael Gratz teamed to win the 400 Medley Relay in a B cut time of 3:21.58, which was over five seconds ahead of second place Gustavus.
Gratz won the 200 IM in a NCAA A cut 1:50.10 while Kubat was second in the event with a B cut 1:52.01.
Tanner Roe won the 500 Free in a NCAA B cut time of 4:35.12 while Spencer Scarth was third.
St. Olaf first year diver Scott Hodgson was second on the 1-meter board with a NCAA 11-meter standard 450.45.
First year Billy Brebrick was third in the 50 Free with a B cut 20.89.
Brebrick, Roe, Kubat and Gratz helped the Oles to a second place swim in the night's other relay, the 200 Free.
