Ole women open season with win over Concordia

OWATONNA, Minn.- The St. Olaf women's tennis team cruised past Concordia 9-0 in their opening match of the spring on Saturday afternoon at Owatonna Tennis Center.

Lisa Hall, Julia Ellis, and Kristi Kroker each won in both singles and doubles action for St. Olaf (1-0, 1-0 MIAC).

St. Olaf lost just five games in six straight-set singles matches. Ellis and Kroker each won twelve straight games, while Hall and Bailey Kent picked up wins in their first collegiate dual match. Concordia drops to 0-2, 0-2 MIAC.

The doubles teams of Ellis and Hall, Kroker and Maya MacGibbon, and Andrea Jumes and Caitlin Owsley all were victorious for the Oles as well. Ellis and Hall topped Taylor Peterson and Chelsie McGraw 8-1. Kroker and MacGibbon ran past Olivia DeLeon and Brittany Glatt 8-0. Jumes and Owsley defeated Mo Sawatzke and Kaitlyn Davies 8-3.

Next up for St. Olaf is a match against Winona State on Friday in Winona.
