Novacinski third as Oles compete at Minnesota's Parent's Day Open

MINNEAPOLIS - Moriah Novacinski finished third in the 1000-meter race to lead the St. Olaf women's track and field team at the University of Minnesota Parent's Day Open on Saturday.

Novacinski finished with a career-best 2:59.22, the top mark in the MIAC this season. Minnesota runners Kaitlin Mincke and Jamie Vandenberg finished ahead of Novacinski, setting a Parent's Day Open record of 2:56.60. Abby Engelhart was fifth in the event at 3:04.54.

Emily Stets (1:40.43) was a stride ahead of teammate Megan Holmes (1:40.91) to finish eighth and ninth in the 600m.

St. Olaf hosts the Ole Open Qualifier on Friday.
