St. Olaf women knocked out of playoffs with loss to Wildcats

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Catherine University held off St. Olaf for a 3-2 MIAC women's hockey win on Saturday, ending the Oles' chances at a playoff bid.

St. Olaf had goals from Margot Fleming and Devyn Hotho in the loss. Fleming gave St. Olaf a 1-0 lead at 7:19 of the first on an assist from Nicole Stumpf. Hotho's goal broke a 1-1 tie early in the third period.

SCU scored twice in the final nine minutes to get the win. Zoe Verkerke tied the game at 2-2 at the 11-minute mark and Hallie Paschke got the game-winner on the power play with 3:37 left in regulation.

St. Olaf had chances down the stretch, but Wildcat goaltender had 15 of her 35 saves in the final period to secure the victory.
