Ole women sixth heading to final day at MIAC's

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Emma Lee won the 5,000 as the St. Olaf women's track and field team stood in sixth place after the second of three days at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Tostrud Center.

Lee cruised to the victory in the 5,000, finishing in 17:14.31, over 40 seconds ahead of the next runner. Teammate Sophie Pietrick was fifth (18:25.04) in the event.

Dani Larson picked up a third place finish in the 400 in a time of 59.18. Larson won her heat in the timed event. The Oles' Emily Stets also won her heat, finishing fifth overall at 59.63.

Moriah Novacinski finished fourth in the 800 in 2:18.40 while Abby Engelhart was eighth (2:21.08).

Andi Gomoll, Larson, Robin Stamp and Meggie Exner combined to lead the Oles to a third place finish in the distance medley relay.

The three-day championship finishes tomorrow. Field events start at 10 a.m. with running events kicking off at 1 p.m. with the 4x200 relay.
