St. Olaf men finish second at MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Grant Wintheiser won the 3,000 in a time of 8:39.51 as the St. Olaf men's track and field team finished second at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Tostrud Center.

Wintheiser was one of four Oles to score in the event, as John Christian finished sixth (8:43.60), Tim Lillehaugen seventh (8:43.84) and Phillip Meyer eighth (8:44.35).

The Oles also picked up big points in the 1,000 as Brian Tomlinson was second in the event in 2:33.20.

St. Olaf finished the meet with a third place showing in the 4x400 relay. James McFarlin, Kevin Skrip, Tomlinson and Reggie Woods teamed in the race, finishing in 3:23.86.

St. Olaf climbed into second after winning three events on Friday. The Oles' second place finish is the best for St. Olaf since 2005.
