Women's nordic skiing wins USCSA combined title

SUN VALLEY, Idaho - Paige Schember won two individual events -- the 15k freestyle and the 1.5k sprint -- as the St. Olaf women's nordic ski team won the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association combined championship, as the Oles completed competition on Saturday.
The Oles' Schember won the 1.5k sprint on Tuesday, as one of four Oles in the top 13 in the race. Elise Sulser finished fifth in the race, while Emma Lee was 12th and Gretchen Mueller 13th.
Schember's win in the 15k freestyle on Friday with a time of 48:49 came as the Oles took the top three spots, as she held of Lee (48:56) and Sulser (48:57). Mueller was 13th in the race.
Lee was the winner in the 8.5 classic on Wednesday as she won the race by over a minute with a time of 30:24. Sulser was fifth at 32:20 while Mueller was eighth (34.49).
As a team, St. Olaf won the 8.5k classic and 15k freestyle and was second in the 1.5k sprint.
The club team from the University of Wyoming finished second in the combined results and the club team from Colorado Mesa University was third.
