Softball gets first win of 2013

CLERMONT, Fla. - St. Olaf defeated D'Youville College 3-0 in the second game of the day on Saturday to get its first win of 2013. The University of Chicago defeated St. Olaf 7-3 in the first game of the day.

The Maroons struck for four runs in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and top St. Olaf, which stranded 10 runners.

Jess Wilson went 3-for-4 while Julie Fergus, Maggie Scholer and Sara Lind had two hits each for the Oles in the loss. Jordan Poole and Kathleen Kohm each went 2-for-3 for Chicago.

St. Olaf 3, D'Youville 0
Haley Schreier drove in all three St. Olaf runs, going 2-for-3 with a homer and a triple as the Oles defeated D'Youville 3-0.

Danielle Collins tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out five against six walks.
