St. Olaf drops 5-4 game to BVU, tops Fredonia State

CLERMONT, Fla. - The St. Olaf softball team lost a 5-4 game to Buena Vista University and defeated Fredonia State 6-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
Buena Vista 5, St. Olaf 4
Down 5-3, the Oles loaded the bases in the seventh inning and scored a run on a hit batter, but Buena Vista held on for the 5-4 win. St. Olaf led 3-1 in the fifth before BVU rallied for three runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning.
Becca Walz went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Sara Lind 2-for-3 for the Oles in the loss.
St. Olaf 6, Fredonia State 4
Walz and Haley Schreier homered for the St. Olaf, which had 13 hits in the victory. Walz was 2-for-4 and Jenna Boudreau 3-for-3 for the Oles, who came back from a 3-0 first inning deficit.
St. Olaf scored two in the first, third and fourth innings. St. Olaf took a 4-3 lead on Schreier's homer in the third and extended the advantage on Walz' two-run shot to right center in the fourth.
Amy Prok got the win for St. Olaf, going the distance. She allowed 10 hits and four walks, but stranded 11 Fredonia baserunners.
