Sand's two-hit shutout gets Oles split with Pointers

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Brady Sand threw a two-hit shutout in a 1-0 game one victory, as St. Olaf split a baseball doubleheader with UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday.
Game One: St. Olaf 1, UW-Stevens Point 0
Sand struck out five and faced just one over the minimum as he became the third straight St. Olaf pitcher to throw a complete game.
St. Olaf scored in the sixth inning on a Pointer error with two outs. Nick Kulla, who scored the game-winning run, led off the inning with a single and was moved up by a Chris Paradise sacrifice bunt.
Game Two: UW-Stevens Point 10, St. Olaf 2
UW-Stevens Point broke a 2-2 tie when it scored twice in the fifth and six times in the sixth to get the 10-2 win and doubleheader split.
Ryan Schilter was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Dan Douglas 2-for-3 for the Pointers.
Chris Paradise was 2-for-4, while Nick Denn had a two-run, game-tying single in the third inning for St. Olaf. St. Olaf was plagued by three errors that led to six unearned runs.
