Gusties edge Oles in game one, complete softball sweep

ST. PETER, Minn. - Gustavus Adolphus College edged St. Olaf 4-3 in game one and completed a MIAC softball sweep with a 7-0 victory in game two on Thursday afternoon.
Game One: Gustavus 4, St. Olaf 3
Gustavus scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to upend St. Olaf in the first game. St. Olaf took a 3-2 lead on a three-run homer by Becca Walzn in the fifth inning.
Sarah Rozell registered the win on the mound for the Gusties, pitching seven innings while recording seven strikeouts, while Amy Prok struck out two during a six-inning performance for the Oles.
Game Two: Gustavus 7, St. Olaf 0
St. Olaf remained within one run of Gustavus up until the fifth inning before a four-run explosion propelled the Gusties to a game two victory and the sweep.
Sam Breneman and Carly Klass each went 2-for-3 at the plate for Gustavus, with Kate Rentschler pitching a three-hit shutout.
Mackenzie Wolter, Becca Walz, and Natalie Mironov each recorded a hit for the Oles, who fell to 5-9 on the season (0-2 MIAC).
Next up for the Oles is a doubleheader at the University of St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon.
