Oles bounce back in game two, earn split at Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. After dropping game one 8-1, St. Olaf responded in game two, earning an MIAC baseball split with an 8-2 victory against Bethel University on Sunday afternoon.
Game One: Bethel 8, St. Olaf 1
Four runs scored by Bethel in the sixth inning, aided by four walks thrown by St. Olaf, propelled the Royals to a 8-1 victory in game one of a MIAC doubleheader.
Joe Zorn pitched a complete game for Bethel, recording seven strikeouts in the process. Mike Schultz went 3-for-3 at the plate batting in two runs.
Anders Dzurak took the loss for the Oles, giving up 3 earned runs and throwing two strikeouts.
Game Two: St. Olaf 8, Bethel 2
Seven different St. Olaf players recorded hits as the Oles' bats came alive en route to a 8-2 victory in game two.
St. Olaf took a 3-2 lead on a Jack Schechninger single in the third inning and never relinquished it, adding another five runs in the late stages of the game to finish off the Royals.
Dylan Porter went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs, while Alex Lampert earned the win on the mound for the Oles, giving up only three hits in a complete game victory.
The Oles open up their home schedule on Tuesday when Augsburg visits for a doubleheader.
