No. 20 St. Thomas gets two close wins over Ole softball team

ST. PAUL, Minn. - No. 20 St. Thomas swept St. Olaf 3-0 and 2-1 in eight innings in a MIAC softball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at South Field.

Game One: St. Thomas 3, St. Olaf 0
Emily Gregory went 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Tommies won the opener 3-0. Jessica Wilson doubled for St. Olaf, which was limited to four hits in the loss.

UST scored twice in the third inning on a Gregory double with one out.

Game Two: St. Thomas 2, St. Olaf 1 (8 Inn.)

Jenna Hoffman hit a walk-off homer with one out in the eighth inning as the 20th-ranked Tommies held off the Oles for a 2-1 extra innings victory. St. Olaf shortstop Mackenzie Wolter went 3-for-3 and drove in the only St. Olaf run with her single in the sixth inning. Danielle Collins took the tough-luck loss for St. Olaf, going all 7 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three.
