Baseball sweeps Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf swept Carleton 9-5 and 7-1 on Friday afternoon in a MIAC baseball doubleheader behind Dylan Porter, who went a combined 6-for-6 in the doubleheader.

Game One: St. Olaf 9, Carleton 5
Porter went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run as St. Olaf claimed a 9-5 win in game one. The Oles' Kyle Watson worked four innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit and no walks to get the win.

Watson came into the game with the Oles leading 6-4. St. Olaf then added two runs on a two-run double by Adam Johnson in the fifth. A Sam Maus triple led off the seventh. He later scored on a Schmiesing double.

Carleton scored three times in the first inning off of St. Olaf starter Brady Sand, who was touched for four runs in three innings. Davis Stillerman went 2-for-3 and Hayden Tsutsui drove in three runs for the Knights.

Game Two: St. Olaf 7, Carleton 1
Alex Lampert scattered seven hits in a complete game victory, striking out four and walking one to get his fourth win (4-2) of the year to complete the sweep for St. Olaf.

Porter was 3-for-3 and Adam Johnson 3-for-4 as the Oles' plated two in the first, two in the second and another two in the fifth.

Johnson and Stillerman had two hits each for the Knights.
