Ole softball wins fifth straight with sweep of Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf swept Macalester College 3-0 and 4-3 in a Monday afternoon MIAC softball doubleheader.
Game One: St. Olaf 3, Macalester 0
Behind a complete-game, five-hit shutout from Amy Prok, St. Olaf topped Macalester in game one.
Becca Walz got the scoring started for St. Olaf by hitting an RBI single in the first inning that scored Mackenzie Wolter.
Natalie Mironov had an RBI sacrifice bunt in the fourth inning and Sara Lind followed that with an RBI single of her own to give the Oles a 3-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the game.
Game Two: St. Olaf 4, Macalester 3
A three-run third inning proved to be the deciding factor in game two of the doubleheader.
Jessica Wilson led St. Olaf in game two with two hits, two RBIs and a run. Her double in the the third scored Walz and Wolter and got the Oles on the board first. Wilson was eventually able to come around and score after an an RBI single by Julie Fergus.
Danielle Collins pitched the first five innings and earned the win and Kristen Rudberg pitched the final two innings to pick up her first save of the season.
St. Olaf (12-14, 7-7 MIAC) will resume its schedule at home on Tuesday with a doubleheader against St. Mary's beginning at 3:30.
