Wilson walks off in game two to create split with St. Mary's

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Senior Jessica Wilson blasted a two run, walk off home run in game two to give St. Olaf a split in a MIAC doubleheader against St. Mary's University on Tuesday afternoon at Mabel Shirley Field.
Game One: St. Mary's 8, St. Olaf 0
Hailey Ohl led the Cardinals in game one by producing four hits and scoring three runs en route to an 8-0, five inning defeat of St. Olaf.
Kayla Peterson earned the win for St. Mary's by holding St. Olaf to three hits and striking out four. The win was Peterson's twelfth of the season.
Game Two: St. Olaf 3, St. Mary's 1
Jess Wilson walked off a winner in game two of the doubleheader. With the game knotted at 1-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, Wilson stepped to plate and rocketed a home run over the left field fence that secured a win for St. Olaf who was playing its final regular season home game.
"I just wanted it so bad and I was happy to get it," Wilson said after the game. "It was really more than I could have hoped for."
Danielle Collins pitched the full game for the Oles and earned her seventh win of the season.
The Oles will continue play tomorrow when they travel to St. Catherine University for their final two games of the regular season. Game one will begin at 3:30 p.m.
