ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf senior Becca Bevans was named the MIAC women's track athlete of the week after she recorded one of the top times in the MIAC and NCAA Division III in the 10,000-meter run at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bevans recorded a top-12 finish and was the second MIAC runner to cross the finish line in a field of mostly Division I student-athletes.

Bevans finished the 10K race with a time of 36:09.43 and missed a spot in the top 10 by just three seconds. That beat her previous season-best of 36:27.12, and is the second-fastest time in the MIAC this season behind only teammate Emma Lee, who finished seventh at Drake. Bevans' time also cracked the national top-10 list, as it now ranks as the ninth-fastest time in all of Division III this season. Bevans also holds the MIAC's third-fastest time in the 5,000-meter run.
