ST. PAUL, Minn. - Emma Lee won the 10k as the St. Olaf Women's Track & Field team competed in the first day of the 2013 MIAC Track & Field Championships on Friday at the University of St. Thomas.

Lee battled with teammate Becca Bevans as they finished first (35:56.83) and second (36:05.25) in the event. Lee hold the St. Olaf record with a time of 35:39.11. Her time ranks her sixth in the nation in the 10K.

Bevans holds the second all-time record with her 36:05.25. She ranks 14th in the national standings.

The Oles had two other point scorers in the 10K. Sophie Pietrick crossed the line in seventh (38:21.06) and teammate Allison Brandt finished eighth (38:56.74).

Those finishes, along with the Oles' strong performance at the MIAC Heptathlon last week, put St. Olaf in second place (36 points) behind only St. Thomas going into the final day of the Championships.
