Wolter, Walz earn All-MIAC honors, four are honorable mention

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senior Mackenzie Wolter and first year Becca Walz were named All-MIAC on Friday, while four others were honorable mention selections.

Wolter hit .300 overall and .296 in league play. She had one homer and 15 RBIs and scored a team-best 22 runs, as she held the team's leadoff spot for most of the season. She took a team-high 14 walks and fielded .934 at shortstop.

Walz had four homers in her rookie campaign and hit .306 with five doubles and 22 RBIs. She was second on the team in runs (20) and was one of three first years on the league's 25-person All-MIAC squad.

St. Olaf had four named All-MIAC honorable mention, including seniors Jessica Wilson, Julie Fergus and Amy Prok. Sophomore Danielle Collins was the other.

Wilson hit .340 overall with two homers and 21 RBIs, and .255 in MIAC play. Fergus led the team in hitting at .364 while Prok (3-5, 2.76 ERA in MIAC play) and Collins (4-3, 3.10 ERA) tossed a combined 197 innings in 2013.

St. Olaf went 15-17 in the shortened spring. The Oles reached the final four at the adjusted MIAC Playoffs by winning their pool.
