Ole volleyball team drops two on Friday

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - St. Olaf lost a pair of non-conference volleyball matches on Friday -- to Martin Luther (3-2) and host Bethel University (3-0) -- at the Robertson Center.

Kelly Heissel had 25 kills and Kersten Bork 54 set assists, but Martin Luther used a 4-0 run in the decisive fifth set to earn the five-set (25-22, 22-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-12) victory. The Knights trailed 8-7 before scoring four straight to lead 11-8 in the fifth.

Rebecca Engelbrecht had 25 kills, hitting .404 in the victory for MLC. Molly Nelson added 15 kills in the loss for the Oles.

Bethel def. St. Olaf 3-0
Bethel hit .287 and limited the Oles to a .053 mark in a 25-21, 25-18 and 25-11 sweep. Nicole Ackatz had 15 kills and Carlee Hoppe 10 for BU.

St. Olaf was paced by nine kills from Nelson and 12 digs from Abby Slack.
