Women's golf ninth at DIII Classic

LAKE CITY, Minn. - Maxine Carlson fired a final round 80 to finish 18th overall (tie) as St. Olaf was ninth of 15 teams in the Division III Classic at The Jewel, which wrapped up on Sunday.

Carlson's 80 was a season-low.

Nadia Baka was the Oles' next best, going 85-83 in the two days to place 26th. St. Olaf shaved 15 strokes off its first day 352 to post a 337 on Sunday at the 5,815-yard course.

St. Olaf will play next in the College City Challenge on Saturday and Sunday at Bellwood Oaks in Hastings, Minn.
