Olson wins, Johnson fifth as Ole women third at St. Olaf Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - First year Noelle Olson won with a 21:34, which ranks third-best 6k time in school history, as the Ole women's cross country team finished third as a team in the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday.

UMD's Breanna Colbenson, the runner up, hung with Olson for the first half of the race. The St. Olaf first year then took control in the final loop and won the race by 14 seconds.

The Oles' Jorden Johnson (right) was fifth overall with a time of 22:36 in the 15-team, 251-runner field. Senior Moriah Novacinski (23:38) was 23rd and first year Allison Trezona (23:55) 32nd.

Colbenson and the Division II Bulldogs won the race and Carleton was second. Behind the Oles in fourth was St. Scholastica.
