Balanced team effort lifts Ole men over SMU

WINONA, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's soccer team used a balanced team effort to gain a 4-1 victory over MIAC foe Saint Mary's on Wednesday evening in Winona.

The Oles were able to take advantage of their 13 shots on goal to score two goals in each half. Mackenzie Lund, Kevin Skrip, Claudio Barboza and Dan Lilly all scored for St. Olaf.

Skrip's goal was his ninth of the year and he is now tied for second in the MIAC in goals scored behind St. Thomas's Nick Rapisarda and Miles Stockman-Willis who are tied for first with ten apiece. Lilly's goal was his first point of the season and came on a header in the 82nd minute.

Ben Braman earned his eighth win of the season and had two saves on the night for the Oles.

St. Olaf (11-2-1, 5-1-1 MIAC) will play their final regular season non-conference game on Saturday afternoon against the University of California, Santa Cruz. Play will begin at 11 a.m. at Rolf Mellby Field.
