NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf Women's soccer team used a three goal barrage to earn a 3-0 victory over St. Catherine University on Saturday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field in a MIAC contest.

After a tightly-fought first half that featured only three combined shot attempts, Kajsa Brindley was awarded an opportunity to open the scoring with a penalty kick at the 49:22 mark. Brindley delivered, notching her eighth goal of the year beating Wildcat netminder Danielle Mendez, spotting St. Olaf a 1-0 lead.

A St. Kates' blunder leading to an own goal doubled the Oles' lead at 68:33.

St. Olaf was able to tack on one more before the final whistle at 87:09 when Rachael Stets flopped a shot over Mendez's head from 30 yards out. Amanda Leone picked up the assist on the marker.

Ole goalkeeper Nora Forbes picked up her fourth shutout of the season and second consecutive, stopping both Wildcat offerings as St. Olaf outshot St. Kates 6-2. The senior from Edina, Minn. has not allowed a goal in 183:21, a streak extending back to an Oct. 12 defeat to Macalester.

The win capped off the Oles' regular season schedule at home for 2013; St. Olaf finished 6-2-1 at Rolf Mellby Field.

Looking ahead, St. Olaf (6-2-0 MIAC, 8-5-1 overall) will play their three remaining MIAC games on the road, beginning next Saturday at St. Thomas. The Oles and Tommies are slated to face off at 11 a.m. from St. Paul, Minn.
