Olson wins, Johnson second as Ole women run to second place at MIAC's

ST. PAUL, Minn. - First year Noelle Olson won the individual title and junior Jorden Johnson was second as the St. Olaf women's cross country team was second at the MIAC Championships on Saturday at Como Park.

Olson cruised to the individual title in 21:49.5, over 40 seconds ahead of Johnson (22:30.3, who was eight seconds ahead of the third place finisher. The Oles had two others in the top 21, junior Michaela Banz in 16th (23:34.0) and Allison Trezona in 21st (23:46.1).

Carleton won the team title. The Knights went 5-6-7, and had all five scorers inside the top 18. Saint Ben's was third, Macalester fourth and Gustavus fifth.

The runner up finish marked the fourth straight season St. Olaf finished first or second.

St. Olaf will be idle next week before hosting the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships on Nov. 16.
