Division II MSU-Mankato defeats Oles in exhibition opener

MANKATO, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's basketball team had its hands full on Monday evening and was defeated by the 23rd ranked team in Division II, MSU-Mankato, 111-50 at the Taylor Center.

The Oles, who were playing in their first competitive game of the 2013-14 season, fell behind early and were never able to fight back. The Mavericks, who are regularly ranked in Division II, led 60-14 at halftime.

The Ole offense was led by sophomore Kim Cerjan who went six of six from the free throw line and totaled 14 points. Nikki Frogner had 11 points and five rebounds and Elise Raney had 10 points by going 5-of-7 from the field.

St. Olaf will begin its regular season on November 15 when it will make the trip to Colorado to face Colorado College and Occidental College in Colorado Springs.
