Olson, Johnson propel Ole women to third place regional finish

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Noelle Olson finished second and Jorden Johnson took fourth to lead the St. Olaf women's cross country team to a third place finsh at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships on Saturday.
Olson crossed the finish line in 21:30.79, behind only Chelsea Johnson of the College of St. Scholastica. Her time ranks all third in the St. Olaf 6k record book.
Johnson finished fourth with a time of 22:05.24 to make St. Olaf the only team to place two runners in the top five overall.
The Oles' other point scorers were Michaela Banz, who finished 27th (23:21.14), Allison Trezona at 41 (23:43.39), and Grace WIlson at 57 (23:54.69).
St. Olaf finished with 131 points, good for third out of 27 teams. Only Carleton College (104) and Wartburg College 86) scored better.
The Oles compete next at the NCAA Division III Championships in Hanover, Ind. on November 23.
