Ole women sweep St. Benedict

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf secured it's first MIAC sweep of the 2013-2014 season with a 6-2 win over St. Benedict in their home opener on Saturday night.

The Oles, who won 3-2 on Friday night in St. Cloud, cruised out to a 4-1 lead after Sara Lind found the back of the net in the middle of the second period.

St. Ben's (0-3-0, 0-2-0 MIAC) made a run as they cut the lead to 4-2 with a goal from Megan Lawry at the 10:55 mark in the second period. St. Ben's also got a goal from Siri Berg-Moberg.

Cassie Alexander got her the first win of her career in net for the Oles, making 29 saves.

Offensively, St. Olaf (2-2-0, 2-0-0 MIAC) got two goals from both Katie Moeller and Lisa Tuuri, and one goal from Margot Fleming.

The Oles have a short rest as they play an afternoon contest against Adrian College at 2 p.m. in Northfield tomorrow.
