November 16, 2013
ST. CLOUD. Minn. - St. Olaf managed to score four goals but couldn't keep the puck out of their own net on Saturday evening and fell to St. John's 7-4 in St. Cloud.
St. John's began the game strong and lead 3-0 after only one period of play after receiving goals from Kevin Becker, Dave Mylrea and Josh Gross, two of which were power play goals.
St. Olaf (1-5-0, 1-1-0 MIAC) stormed back and made it a one-goal game after only four minutes of play in the second period when junior Tim Tuscher and sophomore Mark Rath scored their first goals of the season.
However, St. John's (3-3-0, 1-1-0 MIAC) never relinquished their lead and was able to add four more goals. Johnnie goalkeeper Mitch Thompson did his part by allowing only four goals and saving 25.
St. Olaf will play a doubleheader against St. Thomas next Friday and Saturday with the first game being played in Northfield on Friday evening. That game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
