Second half flurry gives Luther 71-52 win over Ole women

DECORAH, Iowa - Luther used a 19-3 second half run in a 71-52 non-conference women's basketball win over visiting St. Olaf on Saturday afternoon.
Taylor Johnson had a game-high 19 points to go with eight rebounds and Lyndsi Woolems 14 for Luther (3-1) in the win.
Elise Raney had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead St. Olaf (2-1). Kim Cerjan added 11 and Nikki Frogner nine in six minutes before departing in the first half.
St. Olaf led 29-27 at the half on the heels of a 5-for-12 shooting performance from the arc. Afton Wolter had nine points on three long-range makes. St. Olaf extended the lead to six, at 37-31 with 17:48 left, before Luther scored 11 straight.
St. Olaf was within three later in the half, but Luther struck back with a 12-1 run to all but seal the win.
The Oles are off until Dec. 3, when they open MIAC play with a home game against Carleton College.
