Men's hockey picks up win over Marian

APPLETON, Wis. - Peter Lindblad scored twice, including the game-winner early in the third period, as St. Olaf defeated Marian University 4-3 in the NCHA-MIAC Thanksgiving Showdown on Friday night.

Nick Marsh and Tim Tuscher scored the Oles' other two goals. Marsh tied the game at 1-1 midway through the first period, while Tushcher knotted it a 2-2 with his goal at 7:30 of the second.

Lindblad then scored the game's next two goals, a power play score at 17:24 of the second and an unassisted tally to open the third period. Marian's Matt Williams scored to make it 4-3 with 10:40 left, but St. Olaf goaltender Steve Papciak made five saves down the stretch to preserve the victory.

St. Olaf plays host Lawrence tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
