Gustavus gets three in third to top Ole women

ST. PETER, Minn. - Molly Doyle scored each of her two goals in the third period, as No. 5 Gustavus Adolphus College scored three third period goals held off visiting St. Olaf 5-2 on Friday night in a MIAC women's hockey game.
The Oles had goals from Margot Fleming and Alana Patrick. Fleming got St. Olaf within a goal at 16:28 of the second period with her even-strength goal that made it a 2-1 advantage for Gustavus.
The Gusties then had goals from Emily Gustafson at 11:40 and Doyle at 13:31 to take a 4-1 lead. St. Olaf (2-7-0, 2-3-0 MIAC) responded with Patrick's score at 15:44, but Doyle put it away with an empty-net score with 13 seconds left.
Gustavus held a 33-16 advantage in shots and converted on the only power play score of the night. St. Olaf was 0-for-2 with an extra skater.
The teams meet in the series finale tomorrow night at Northfield Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m.
