Women's basketball wins at St. Kate's

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Kim Cerjan had 19 points and Elise Raney 10 rebounds as St. Olaf topped St. Catherine 59-53 in a MIAC women's basketball game on Wednesday night at the Butler Center.
Gabby Zehrer and Abby Torgerson had 13 points each for St. Catherine in the loss. The Wildcats (2-5, 1-3 MIAC) held a 30-26 lead at the half on the heels of a 6-for-10 shooting performance from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.
The Oles, who trailed by as many as eight in the second half, outrebounded the host Wildcats 52-37.
St. Olaf (5-2, 3-1 MIAC) went on 13-1 run midway through the second half to turn a four-point SCU lead to a 49-41 advantage. St. Kate's scored the next four, but the Oles gained their largest lead on a Cerjan three-pointer with 4:01 remaining to make it 55-45.
Neither team shot well from the free throw line, as the Oles went 12-for-23 and SCU 5-of-10.
The Oles' Sheridan Blanford had seven of her nine points in the second half and Lauren Gutierrez added seven points and seven rebounds.
St. Olaf is off until January 4.
