St. Olaf women lose 75-54 game to 10th-ranked UST

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Katie Stone had 16 of her game-best 19 points in the first half as No. 10 St. Thomas outlasted St. Olaf 75-54 in a MIAC women's basketball game on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
Betsey Daly had 15 points and Elise Raney 11, 10 rebounds and five blocks to pace St. Olaf (6-4, 4-3 MIAC) in the loss.
St. Thomas (9-1, 7-0 MIAC) scored six straight near the end of the first half to build a 13-point advantage at the break.
St. Olaf scored the first five points of the second half to make it 40-32, but UST followed with six straight. The St. Thomas lead swelled to 22 with 6:37 left before a 6-1 burst by the Oles.
St. Olaf managed only to make a season-low three 3-pointers (3-of-13) while UST was 8-for-20.
Maggie Weiers added 15 points and Taylor Young 11 for the Tommies. Kim Cerjan added 11 for the St. Olaf in the defeat.
St. Olaf plays at the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday at 3 p.m.
