Blazers pull away to beat Ole women

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The College of Saint Benedict closed on a 10-0 run to defeat St. Olaf 66-51 in a MIAC women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Claire Lynch Hall.
Tish Alexander had 15 points to lead three Blazers in double figures. Brianna Barrett added 13 points and four assists while Emily Lueck had 10 points off the bench in the win for CSB (7-4, 4-4 MIAC).
St. Olaf was led by Kim Cerjan's 11 points and eight from Betsey Daly.
The Oles led by four midway through the first half on three steals and lay ups by Cerjan. CSB closed the frame on an 8-3 run to lead 29-24 at the break.
Saint Ben's led by just one, at 46-45, with 8:01 left. The Blazers then scored the game's next eight points and held St. Olaf to six points over the duration.
Each team was modest from the field. CSB was 35.5 percent and St. Olaf 30.2, but the Blazers drained nine three-pointers to the Oles' four.
St. Olaf hosts Macalester on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
