Larson ties record as Oles win invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Dani Larson tied the St. Olaf record in the 60m hurdles as the St. Olaf Women's Track and Field team won the St. Olaf Invitational on Friday night in Tostrud Fieldhouse. Larson crossed the line in 9.23, tying the school record that was set in 2004 by Becky 'Peterson' Ruud ('04). Ruud, who earned All-America honors in the 55m hurdles her senior year, has been an assistant coach for the past four seasons. Larson holds two other indoor records including the pentathlon and high jump.

St. Olaf's other top finishes included Shaina Rud in the 600m (1:44.64), Moriah Novacinski in the 800m (2:20.22), Kelsey Coulter in the mile (5:31.63), and Amy Waananen in the 3K (11:14.49). Larson also won the high jump clearing 1.63m and was the anchor leg of the winning 4x400m relay. Rud, Megan Holmes, and Novacinski were the other members of the relay that came from behind to finish with and a time of 4:12.78.

The Oles won the meet with a total of 104 points. The team next competes at Carleton on February 15.
