Ole women third after first day of MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - The St. Olaf women's swimming and diving team was third after Thursday's session at the MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Maddie Lee was second in the 500 Free, with a time of 5:03.87. Teammate Sarah Kemp finished seventh in the event (5:14.09).

Carolyn Berhardt was fifth in the 50 Free, coming in at 24.02.

Megan Gaylord was ninth in the 200 Individual Medley, winning the consolation final.

Bernhardt, Gaylord, Abbey Schnaith and Lee swam to a third place finish in the final event of the night, the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:55.68. The Oles were fifth in the first relay of the event, the 200 Free Relay, as Marla Thomford, Lee, Laura Begin and Kemp posted a 1:38.18.
