Women's basketball sends seniors out with win

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Kim Cerjan had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Elise Raney 14 and 12 as St. Olaf cruised past Hamline University 76-53 in a MIAC women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Center.
Maddie Ehrich added career-highs of 12 points and eight rebounds as one of three seniors -- with Raney and Brittany Webber -- playing their final game at Skoglund Center.
With the win, St. Olaf (14-9, 12-8 MIAC) clinched a spot in the MIAC playoffs.
Jordan Sammons had 18 points and Chelsey Bonsante 14 to pace Hamline (7-16, 6-13 MIAC).
St. Olaf raced to leads of 10-2 and 23-10 on the way to a 46-22 lead at the half. Hamline cut the lead to 11, at 54-43 with 11:55 left, but the Oles then went on a 11-2 run over the next four minutes to put it out of reach.
Cerjan had 17 of her game-best 22 in the first half. Raney went 7-for-12 from the field and collected her 14th career double-double and fifth of the season.
Webber, a career starter and member of the 2011-12 MIAC All-Defensive team, had three assists and a pair of rebounds.
The St. Olaf senior class has a 56-43 record in its four seasons, the first winning record for a class at St. Olaf since 2002.
