Men's basketball tops Bethel in regular season finale

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Justin Pahl had 13 points as the St. Olaf men's basketball team topped host Bethel University 62-40 on Saturday afternoon at Robertson Center.

Connor Gunderson and Sterling Nielsen added 11 points each for the Oles, who won their third straight and for the 13th time in the last 14 outings.

Luke Buttenhoff had 11 points for Bethel.

St. Olaf (20-5) finished the regular season 17-3 in league play, the most MIAC wins in program history. The program had one other 17-win season, in 1970-71 (17-1) as a member the Midwest Conference.

The Oles, the league runner up and No. 2 seed in the upcoming MIAC playoffs, will host a semifinal game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. St. Olaf will meet the higher remaining seed that comes out of the event's first round games.
