Lindblad hat trick, Rath overtime goal lift Oles past Auggies

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Peter Lindblad scored three times, including the game-tying score with 20 seconds left in regulation, as St. Olaf defeated Augsburg 5-4 in overtime in a MIAC men's hockey game.
Mark Rath scored the game-winner 31 seconds into overtime on an assist from brother David Rath.
Augsburg scored three unanswered goals in the final nine-plus minutes to turn a 3-1 deficit to a 4-3 lead.
Dylan Meier's even-strength score with 2:41 left gave Augsburg, which trailed 3-1 midway through the final period, the 4-3 lead. Ben McClellan scored with 9:51 left and Niklas Almstrom with 6:15 remaining.
Dan Cecka had the Oles' other goal, a power play score at 14:12 of the second period that gave St. Olaf a 3-1 lead.
St. Olaf finished in a tie with Saint John's in third in the MIAC but the Johnnies, who defeated St. Thomas 1-0 on Saturday, hold the tie-breaker and will be the third seed in the upcoming MIAC playoffs. The Oles are the No. 4 seed and will host Concordia-Moorhead in a play-in game on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
