Men's basketball to play Central College in first round of NCAA's, tickets on sale Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS - No. 25 St. Olaf will play Central College (20-7) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Friday at 5 p.m. at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point, Wis.

The NCAA has split the site into two sessions, to accommodate fans from all four institutions. Top-ranked UW-Stevens Point will play Marian in the other game at the site at 8 p.m. The winners of the first round games will meet on Saturday at 7 p.m.

St. Olaf earned a spot in the field with a 63-53 win over St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff championship game. The NCAA Division III appearance is the Oles' first in school history. The Oles have won five straight and 15 of their last 16. The team's 22 wins are a school record.

Tickets -- priced at $8 for adults and $4 for youth and students -- will go on sale on Tuesday at 12 p.m. Advanced orders can be placed through the University Information and Ticket Office at UWSP. Call 715-346-4100 to order. Credit cards accepted.
