Apline men take top podium spots

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - St. Olaf Men's Apline Ski team took the top three finishes at the slalom course at the Buck Hill USSA Race on Saturday afternoon in the first of a two day competition.
Grady Gores placed first with a combined score of 51.85 in a field of over fifty competitors. Gores was closely followed by teammates Lars Midthun (52.61) and Jack Post (52.61) who finished second and third respectfully.
On day two of the USSA race, Midthun was the top Olaf finisher, placing second overall (53.96). The Oles other top Sunday places included Post in fifth (54.25), Gores in sixth (54.29), and Matt Hoffman in seventh (54.35).
Lars Midthun won the overall for the weekend with his two second place finishes. Hundredths of a second separated the top five positions in this close race.
The next and final competition for the Men's Alpine Ski Team is at the USCSA Championships March 9-15, in Lake Placid, New York.
