Ole men's swimming qualifies eight for NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - St. Olaf men's swimming and diving team had eight athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis beginning on March 19th.
The national qualifying athletes include Colby Kubat, Alek Rudstrom, Spencer Scarth, Mike Gratz, Tanner Roe, Erik Money, Nick Wilkerson, and Billy Brebrick.
Billy Brebrick is ranked 17th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.53. Tanner Roe is 28th (20.68). Brebrick also ranks third in the 100 fly (48.46) and eighth in the 200 fly (1:49.10).
Michael Gratz has posted the fourth best national time in the 100 freestyle (44.74). Roe is ranked 34th in the event with a time of 45.42. Both men are in the top forty of the 200 freestyle race with Roe at 15th (1:39.18) and Gratz in 36th (1:40.44). Gratz also holds the top national time in the 200 IM after posting a time of 1:49.03 at the 2014 MIAC Championships on Feb. 15.
St. Olaf has three athletes in the top 20 national times for the 100 breaststroke. Colby Kubat is ranked highest at eighth (55.52) while teammates Nicholas Wilkerson (55.98) and Erik Money (56.17) are 16th and 18th respectfully. Wilkerson is eighth in the 200 breaststroke (2:01.31) and Kubat is 23rd (2:03.46). Kubat is also 30th in the 100 IM (1:52.03).
In relay events, St. Olaf is seventh in the 200 freestyle. The Oles also rank 13th in the 400 freestyle, 11th in the 800 freestyle, fourth in the 200 medley, and 11th in the 400 medley relay.
The St. Olaf men are ranked 15th overall as a national team as they prepare for the NCAA Championships on March 19th.
