Ole women win 4x400, are fourth at MIAC's

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team picked up a win in the 4x400m relay on Saturday to cap a fourth place finish as a team at the MIAC Indoor Championships at Saint John's University.
The relay team of Naomi Hesse, Shaina Rud, Moriah Novacinski and Dani Larson finished with a time of 4:02.45, eight seconds better than their previous season best. They were ranked sixth going into the meet. All four relay members ran season best splits with Larson running a 57.7 on the anchor.
Larson also picked up a win in the high jump (1.68m/5'6") and placed second in the pentathlon with a total score of 3373. She is ranked 14th in the pentathlon heading into the NCAA Indoor National Championships next weekend.
Novacinski finished third in the 1000m run with a time of 2:57.94, earning All-MIAC honors. She also placed seventh in the 800m on Friday evening (2:19.51).
Rud ran a St. Olaf all-time top ten time in the 600m run, placing eighth (1:38.84). She also ran the 800m leg of the distance medley relay (DMR) that finished fourth.
Megan Holmes earned All-MIAC honorable mention in the mile finishing fifth with a time of 5:14.79. She led off the DMR, racing the 1200m leg. Teammates Suzie Hoops and Meggie Exner were other members of the DMR.
The 4x200m relay that finished seventh with Hesse, Erin McHugh, Britta Olson, and Hansen.
Other place winners included Jorden Johnson in the 5000m run and Morghen Philippi in the mile. Both ran season bests with Johnson finishing third (18:04.52), earning All-MIAC honors. Philippi was eighth with a time of 5:26.09.
Elise Raney was the sixth Ole to earn All-MIAC honors as she placed second in the high jump. She cleared a personal best 1.65m (5'6").
Emma Fulton placed fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.07m (10'.75"). She earned All-MIAC honorable mention.
