Finseth leads Oles over Auggies in second round

Danica Finseth (Sr., Chatfield, Minn.) hit .609 with 16 kills as St. Olaf moved to 5-1 overall with a 30-19, 30-28 and 30-24 win over host Augsburg in the second round of the Augsburg Invitational in Minneapolis Friday night.

The win was the 17th in a row over the Auggies (1-6) for St. Olaf, dating to the 1989 season.

Audrey Volstad (Jr., Hanley Falls, Minn.) added 46 set assists and Christine Brook (Fy, Cherry Creek, Colo./Cherry Creek) 11 kills in the win.

Dani Boner (Fy, Omaha, Neb./Mercy) had ten kills and four blocks for the Auggies. Billy Painschad (Sr., Howard Lake, Minn./HL-W) added four solo blocks in a losing effort.

St. Olaf will play UW-Stout at 11 a.m. and UW-Eau Claire at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
