Oles lose twice at Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - St. Olaf led late in game one and had 10 hits in game two, but Bethel University swept the visiting Oles 4-2 and 8-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Ona Orth Complex.

Game One: Bethel 4, St. Olaf 2
St. Olaf scored twice in the top of the fifth to take a 2-1 lead, but the host Royals scored once in the bottom of the inning and twice in the sixth to get a 4-2 win in the opener.

Angie Jackson was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs for Bethel. Haley Schreier was 2-for-3 for the Oles in the loss. Schreier had a go-ahead, run-scoring single in the fifth.

Game Two: Bethel 8, St. Olaf 2
Bethel (11-7, 4-2 MIAC) broke a 1-1 tie by scoring five unanswered on the way to the 8-3 win and sweep.

Stephanie Borndale and Brooke Paradise each went 3-for-3 for St. Olaf (0-14, 0-6 MIAC). Paradise drove in two runs.

The Royals' Abbie Bircher was 2-for-2 and Cristina Masten was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
